Often people who only have the time or energy to do just a little bit of exercise will decide not to do it because it doesn’t seem like enough. The idea that just a little bit isn’t worth it can be one of the biggest barriers to being active and getting all physical and mental health benefits that come with that.
“Just a little bit” won’t get you to the Olympics, it’s true, but it can help you maintain your bone density, improve your mood a bit, keep your muscles strong, ward off stiffness, improve your balance, support your heart and lung health and all the good things that not even doing a little bit won’t do.
If you only have the time or interest to do a little bit, it is totally worth doing that little bit, and feeling really good about it.
Got a few mins? Try a few squats, or balancing on one leg, or walking across the room on tip toe, or some bicep curls with whatever books you have handy, or head outside and pluck a few weeds, or whatever feels manageable.
