I talk to people all the time who want to exercise in the morning before work but find it to be a real struggle, and who feel bad about that. For some people, morning really is the best time for them and that’s great – but often people think it’s the time they “should” exercise rather than the time they find they have the most energy or the time they find it the easiest to get it done.
Some people train better in the afternoon or evening. Some people find that if they get a bit more sleep in the morning they can squeeze a workout in on their lunchbreak or in the evening.
There’s really no universal best time – sometimes it takes some experimenting to see what works for you, and sometimes it changes over time.
If the morning is a constant battle for you, consider whether scheduling exercise at a different time might make it easier.
